Today the Art Institute of Chicago hosted a brief talk about a head of Amun with Tutankhamun features.

The talk was presented by Dr Arico. She seemed to be quite knowledgeable about this piece. I asked questions about where this statue would have been located and who would have been in charge of its carving. Later, after the talk, I looked up her profile on the Art Institute website. It says she holds a doctorate from Johns Hopkins focussing on ancient Egyptian statuary, so she wasn’t just making it all up. I can’t imagine how much studying it takes to get such a degree.
